Hatha Yoga

Updated: Sep 10, 2018

Yoga Is more than the practice of postures; it is a way of life that includes the proper mindset, nutrition, and physical exercise. A consistent yoga practice can help overcome old habits, negative thoughts, low self-esteem, addictions, anxiety, and some forms of depression, giving a new and revitalized direction to our lives.

What is hatha yoga?

Hatha yoga is the branch of yoga that concentrates on physical health and mental well-being by using bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a strong and healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind.

The goal of yoga is to train the mind to end the causes of suffering. When we join the ancient postures of hatha yoga with mindfulness practices  — a state of intense concentration achieved through meditation —  yoga can become a spiritual path.

It is no coincidence that we feel a state of peacefulness and contentment after a yoga class. The sense of inner-peace and clarity that is left after a yoga session opens up the possibility of growth, personal development, and transformation.
